Scholarship Eligibility Estimator
Answer a few questions to see which New College Foundation scholarships you may qualify for and your estimated award range.
How the Estimator Works
The Scholarship Eligibility Estimator uses the published eligibility criteria for each of the Foundation's major scholarship funds to generate an approximate award profile based on the information you provide. The estimator considers your cumulative grade point average, household income bracket, enrollment status, and selected applicant characteristics to identify matching funds and calculate estimated annual and four-year award ranges.
Please note that this tool provides estimates only. Actual scholarship awards are determined by the independent Scholarship Review Committee through a holistic evaluation of your complete application, including personal essays, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and any additional documentation. The committee may also consider special circumstances, institutional priorities, and the size of the applicant pool in a given cycle. Award amounts are subject to fund availability and may be adjusted in years of exceptional demand.
Understanding Renewable vs. One-Time Awards
Renewable scholarships are awarded for the initial academic year and automatically renewed for up to three additional years, provided the recipient maintains the academic standards specified in the scholarship agreement (typically a minimum GPA and full-time enrollment). One-time awards are disbursed as a single payment and do not carry forward. Students may hold multiple scholarships simultaneously, and the estimator reflects the potential cumulative value when more than one fund matches your profile.
Part-Time Student Adjustment
Students enrolled part-time (6 to 11 credit hours per semester) are eligible for a prorated scholarship award calculated at 50% of the full-time value. This proration reflects the Foundation's policy of aligning award disbursements with the actual cost of attendance for the credit load enrolled. Part-time students maintain the same renewal eligibility as full-time students, provided they meet the minimum credit threshold each semester.
Ready to Apply?
If the estimator indicates that you match one or more scholarship funds, we encourage you to complete a full application through our online portal. The unified application takes approximately 45 to 60 minutes to complete and requires a current academic transcript, one personal essay of 500 to 750 words, and two letters of recommendation. Need-based applicants should also upload their current FAFSA Student Aid Report.
